Despite being in very bad shape physically and mentally and carrying a body full of damaged organs, I was able to beat the odds and come back home. Home to me means back to the healthy lifestyle I always lived; as an martial artist and philosopher, I had wandered far from home and needed to get back there to heal. And so I did.
It was two main things that helped me defy the odds and get off of high doses of medication- Qi Gong and diet.
One pillar of all healing I learned ( or illness ) is what you put in your body. The old cliche' "you are what you eat" is very true. Thankfully there are foods that heal and I researched and found those foods and went on a strict diet that had my doctors telling me that whatever it is I am doing, to just keep on doing! After all, I was supposed to loose both of my kidneys and instead, began healing.
The other key to my success was and is Qi Gong. An ancient oriental practice similar to Tai Chi. It comes from original martial arts and was used to move healing energy through the body. It probably contributed even more to my healing than my diet did. In either case, one without the other probably would not have been as successful.
I am being purposely vague about my illness for a reason that I will reveal in the not to distant future. Until then, try to eat a little better and do some meditating.
